The Islands

Not all of the 115 inner and outer islands are inhabited or accessible to tourists. Major attractions spread over these three Seychelles islands include:
Mahé – Home to the capital, Victoria, with mountainous interiors carpeted in lush vegetation, winding paths through dense forests, hidden creeks and snow-white beaches. Mahé is a gateway for Seychelles travel and island hopping.
Praslin – An island that early explorers believed to be home to the true Garden of Eden. Surrounded by coral reefs and crystal-clear waters, Praslin shelters a range of rare plants and animal species native only to this island, including coco-de-mer palm trees at the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve.
La Digue – A coral island ringed by towering pink granite boulders. The town area is dotted by traditional Creole-style plantation houses, influenced largely by the colonial architecture. The best way to navigate the island is on foot or local ox-drawn carts.
